Our Hopes for 2022
Happy 2022! With the still unsteady landscape of the pandemic, planning consistent events as we have in the past is still a bit tricky. Our main events usually happen concurrently with our big local conventions: Emerald City Comic Con and PAX West. It has been a “wait and see” approach as we anticipate updates from these organizations. As of this writing, both have scheduled dates for September 2022. We are exploring our options to somehow still bring you a Spring or early Summer event, perhaps a smaller one in some form, so stay tuned for any info on that. For now, our next large and main event in the style that you know and love will be in September 2022.

The announcement that PAX West 2021 is a go and the words “Welcome Home” greeting us on the PAX West website was enough to make our eyes tear up. It’s been so long! A return to PAX has us feeling a jumble of emotions - excitement, relief, cautious optimism, and so much more. PAX officials are working closely with health officials to bring a safe convention this coming September and on that Friday of PAX weekend, we’re going to have our own homecoming at the Columbia Tower. We’ll be able to see you again, play with you again, and game for good again, all to support families at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. It feels great to be able to do this again!
Although we are excited for this triumphant return, our key priority is still the health and well-being of everyone attending. For full details on our Covid-19 safety precautions and considerations please read this blogpost, but to summarize: this event will be FULLY VACCINATED and proof of vaccination must be provided by all in attendance. As of August 23, 2021, per King County health and safety guidelines, MASKS ARE REQUIRED in public indoor spaces, so please be sure to wear a mask when not dining. We will also be scaling down the event to have room to spread out more comfortably and safely. Know that there will always be an inherent risk of exposure at any event such as this, but we are doing everything in our power so that it can be a safe and epic comeback!

A Return to the Top of the World
After a tough year(+), it’s time we celebrate something positive and have a nice night out again. On Friday, September 3, 2021, FTW Events invites you to come spend an evening with the tabletop gaming community once again. At a gorgeous setting on the top floor of the Columbia Tower, you’ll enjoy a decadent buffet with a 76th floor view, sip on geeky-themed cocktails, play board games all night, and win prizes from a huge raffle prize pool donated by the tabletop gaming industry. All to support families at the Seattle Children’s Hospital!
If you had already purchased tickets for the event back in March for Emerald City Comic Con 2020 (that was the first postponed and then continually postponed until now) and have kept them since, your ticket will still be honored for this rescheduled event in September. FTW Events is proud to present our A Return to the Top of the World: Night of Gaming for Good, PAX 2021 Edition!
At the top floor of Seattle's iconic and exclusive Columbia Tower, you'll be playing tabletop games, partaking in fine dining, enjoying Top of the World views, and winning gaming prizes, all for a great cause: our beneficiary, the Imagine Guild, supports the Seattle Children’s Hospital, Uncompensated Care program.
When: Friday September 3, 2021 during PAX 2021 weekend, 6:00 PM - 1:00 AM
We’ve been hailed as the swankiest PAX after-party, as you can come join us after your shenanigans at the convention. As usual, you will not need to have a PAX badge to join us.
Where: Seattle's Columbia Tower, 701 5th Avenue, 76th Floor
We'll be on the highest (publicly accessible) floor west of the Mississippi River! The tower is an 8 block walk or about a $5 Uber/Lyft ride from the Washington State Convention Center.

There are a number of reasons to attend, but chief among them is that we'll be gaming for good. Seattle Children’s Hospital’s Uncompensated Care program eases the financial burden on vulnerable families whose kids are in need of care, allowing parents to focus on the most important thing: their child’s health. Over 60% of families at Seattle Children’s are in need of financial assistance. Help us ensure that they receive it!
Come for the Games
Play all night from our extensive lending library, with a variety of games to suit many tastes and play styles. You are also welcome to BYOG or purchase something new to play using vouchers to our pop-up game store that come in your SWAG BAG. Or, you could possibly win a new game from our raffle, with thousands of dollars worth of gaming and geeky prizes all generously donated by members of the gaming industry and community!
Come for the Party
This event promises an incredible evening of gaming and fundraising against the amazing backdrop of the Seattle skyline and sunset from 76 floors up. Enjoy a fine dining buffet from the Columbia Tower Club's kitchen and geeky-themed cocktails from the bar. Play and mingle all night with other gamers, game developers, publishers and other industry folk! Our guest of honor for this event is to be announced, so be sure to to check back soon!

Prices go up for procrastinators, so once the tickets go live, don't wait too long! We’ve also been incredibly blessed by our sponsors’ donations where for every event we’ve had so far since starting our events in 2015, we were able to ensure that no one went home empty-handed (in addition to the SWAG Bag), whether it was a game or some geeky merch. While we can’t promise that will happen every time, you can bet that we’ll do our darnedest to make it happen!

PARKING
Parking is available at the Columbia Tower for $10 after 5PM. However, please note that the garage closes at midnight, any car parked after midnight will be charged for the next day as well. Street parking is free after 8:00 PM.
All proceeds from this event will be donated to The Imagine Guild in support of Seattle Children's Hospital. The Mission Statement of the Imagine Guild is bringing together the motorcycle community in support of Children’s Hospital, and their mission is to eliminate childhood illness and injury. This is a wonderful cause and we hope you can join us!

Our entire team at FTW Events loves board games so it's no surprise that even during our "off-time" away from charity event-planning, we like to get together with everyone and play games! We ask that you join our group FTW Events Game Nights for RSVP purposes, but otherwise these Monthly Monday Game Nights are free, anyone can join in and it takes place at our favorite venue with our favorite views of Seattle.
